Last year it was announced that Scott Forstall is no longer working for the company from Cupertino and Craig Federighi is now responsible for the technical development of iOS. Jony Ive, however, has taken over the Department of the user interface. These personnel changes could have an impact on the upcoming iOS version.

An article in the Wall Street Journal has been devoted to this topic and reported that Jony Ive would like to implement a so-called "Flat Design" in the future. This kind of design was accelerated already apps like letterpress and shows a leaner and simpler user interface design. The Skeumorphismus, the Forstall introduced could be eliminated in the same train. The changes should however vonstattengehen gradually and regularly. A complete revision of the mobile operating system can not be expected in iOS 7th

Some suggested that in Apple's next mobile operating system, Ive is pushing a more "flat design" that is strong and simple, according to developers who have spoken to Apple employees but did not have further details. Overall, they expect any changes to be pretty conservative. For the past few years, Apple has unveiled versions of its mobile operating system in the summer.

Apple has even presented a first taste last night. The Podcasts App has received a major update, which has the current design, which is a tape recorder BROWN TG mimicked 60, throws overboard and introduced simpler controls. One can assume that Jony Ive has been made at this stage its influence and gradually the different default apps will overtake Apple.

In addition, the report in the Wall Street Journal has also prompted yet announced that the software developers are now working closely together with the hardware department and get much earlier, the first prototypes to face. Simultaneously, tasks that overlap in iOS and OS X, grouped together in order to ensure a consistent user experience.
